Obedience to the Al-mighty Allah is the core purpose of human creation. The reward of this obedience is entering into paradise on the Day of Judgment. It is important to note that compliance with the injunctions of the Almighty is not limited to just saying prayers and doing charity. Keeping yourself away from the acts prohibited by Almighty Allah is also considered worship, and not only worship but one of the most rewarding ones. It is called Taqwa (Piety). In this blog, we will explore the importance of Taqwa in the light of the Quran and Sunnah.
What is Taqwa?
Taqwa is defined as the act of fearing Allah when committing sins. Sin is any action that has been forbidden in the Quran or Sunnah. It encompasses acts such as backbiting, lying, deception, injustice, oppression, adultery, or any act that has been forbidden. A Muslim who practices Taqwa holds the highest standards in front of Allah, irrespective of caste, color, or nation.
Allah Almighty says in the Quran: “ Verily the most honored in front of Allah is the one who is the most pious (Practices Taqwa).” (Al Hujurat: 13)
